Item Description

Matrix apatite specimens of this exceptional aesthetic quality from the renowned Himalaya Mine are considered quite rare and desirable. A rich rose-pink, lustrous, translucent, 1.4 x 1.4 x 1.3 cm, textbook hexagonal crystal is jauntily set upright on the sculptural smoky quartz and feldspar small cabinet matrix. Overall, apatite is rare for the Himalaya mine, though found periodically over the years. Yellow SW UV fluorescence. Ex Bill Larson San Diego County Pegmatite Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. An outstanding and rare matrix apatite specimen from the Himalaya Mine, self-collected by the longtime owner! This is a stunning example for what it is, valued $1200-1500
