Item Description

A superb, aesthetic and rare apatite thumbnail from Nuristan. Beautiful lilac-colored, lustrous, translucent, RARE twins are dramatically perched atop the feldspar matrix. The striking dominating large crystal at the top is 2.1 cm. Complete all-around, this is a most exceptional, colorful and rare style of apatite from here. Rich yellow SW UV fluorescence. This exceptional thumbnail comes from the collection of the well-known Arizona mineral collector and rancher Rukin Jelks (1927-2014). You can read his bio at the following link: https://mineralogicalrecord.com/labels.asp?colid=1767. It was valued at $300. It is worth more today.
