Item Description

Apatite is a rare species from Colorado's famous Zn-Pb-Ag-Cu-Au-Mn Eagle Mine at Gilman, closed since 1981. Glassy, gemmy, colorless, textbook tabular hexagonal crystals, to 6 mm, are aesthetically clustered on the rich ore matrix of sharp, lustrous, twinned sphalerite crystals. Bright white apatite fluorescence. An uncommon, classic and showy combination from the Kay Robertson Collection # 7861 and acquired from the Cisneros'. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the Colorado or species collector!!
