Item Description

Fine, sharp, lustrous, prismatic, hexagonal crystals of light green colored Fluorapatite measuring up to 1.2 cm are intermixed with prismatic, silvery-grey, metallic Arsenopyrite crystals on Pyrite matrix. The Apatites are in good condition for the most part, though there are a few contacts. The fluorescence is excellent as you can see from the photo under UV light. These specimens are RARE on the market, as I've only seen a few of them over the last 15-20 years. If you collect Peruvian minerals or worldwide Apatites, don't miss out on this one. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12822). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
