Item Description

A rarely seen two-sided combination specimen from an uncommon and extinct lead mine - Korsnas, Finland. Small (about 2-3 mm) sparkling, prismatic, yellow-green colored crystals of Fluorapophyllite-(K) can be seen covering the front side of the specimen. The reverse side of the piece show colorless to greyish Calcite. This material is seldom seen on the market, and I'm told came from the 190m level of the mine. If you collect minerals of Finland, or just oddities from Europe, don't miss out on this hard to find specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6209). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
