Item Description

Fluorapophyllite-(K) is typically seen in white/colorless crystals, less commonly in green examples, but there are a few places in the world that produce PINK crystals, which are arguably the most desirable shade for the species. This particular specimen is from Dalnegorsk, and is one of the VERY few pink Apophyllites we've ever had to offer from the area . This full-sized miniature features a rich coverage of vitreous crystals measuring up to 9 mm, with sharp, well-formed faces and pseudo-octahedral form, sitting on a layer of Quartz on matrix. Nearly all of the crystals are undamaged, and look great up close. If you collect minerals of Dalnegorsk, or you're just a fan of rare examples of well-known minerals, don't miss out on this beautiful and VERY hard to find piece from this productive specimen-producing part of the world. Valued $1,000-$1,200.
From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#64 Ru), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel. We at The Arkenstone have the privilege of offering the remainder of this great worldwide collection through our various platforms.
