Item Description

Very glassy, transparent to translucent, colorless, pseudocubic fluorapophyllite crystals cover the 3-dimensional small cabinet matrix. Snow-white, pearlescent mesolite lathes, to about 8 mm, are aesthetically scattered on the piece. Part of the underlying matrix is banded light mint-green prehnite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10497 and acquired from the Cisneros' in September, 1984. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A very showy, rich, excellent and uncommon example of the combination species from this noted large open pit mine.
