Item Description

I know that Indian Zeolites and associated species are everywhere, but you must appreciate them for what they are. They are simply some of the finest crystallized examples of many of these species extant. This piece features good sized, sharp, lustrous, nearly colorless (very light green) crystals of Fluorapophyllite associated with beautiful peach colored Stilbite crystals. The largest Apophyllite measusres 2.4 cm on edge, and the display side is nearly damage free, but the periphery is contacted where it was removed from the pocket wall. It's an attractive small cabinet size piece, and will probably end up being a great bargain for somebody. One day (eventually) India will not produce any more of these Zeolites, and they will more than likely receive great recognition for being the amazing display specimens that they are. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The specimen is accompanied by one of Wulff's famous 3x5 index cards and a display label that states it was purchased from Crystals of India in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
