Fluorite

Item Description

Appealing plate of intergrown Fluorite cubes increasing in size and definition from the base to the top of the piece. The larger cube on the top left measures 3.1 cm wide and 2.1 cm tall. The sharp Fluorite crystals are characterized by an internal translucent, light-green color with a thin outer transparent, clear, glassy final growth phase. The cubes host a sharp rich green phantom and have a preferential dusting of a sugary white to tan microcrystalline Quartz. There are a number of crystals in which the last clear glassy Fluorite phase has included the Quartz but not completely across the entire specimen. The Fluorites are in excellent condition with the piece showing some contact from extraction on the periphery. There is also a small amount of associated sparkling Pyrite on the lower right front of the piece. A very interesting Fluorite specimen with a vibrant green color, nice phantoms and contrasting coating/inclusions of sugary Quartz. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl Collection. Note this material is more rare than similar looking cubic fluorites from Hunan Province, and slightly different.
