A big, hefty, impressive, cabinet sized specimen of a lesser seen style of Fluorite from the Xianghualing Mine featuring soft green, translucent, cuboctahedral crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 3.2 cm sitting atop a previous layer of cubic green Fluorite matrix. Most of the crystals are in great shape, though it's not complete around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall, and it has a big saw mark on the back, for those of you who care about those details. If you collect Fluorites or minerals from Xianghualing, don't miss out on this one as few of this type were found, especially in this size. Priced at $4,750 in the inventory. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#577 C), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
