Item Description

The great Fluorite mines in Spain were active from the 1930's to 1979, and they produced numerous, fine combination specimens. This cabinet piece is end-to-end Fluorite crystals, each gemmy and lustrous with delicate, blue and purple shading. The largest crystal is 2.8 cm, and on close examination you can see both phantoms and beveled edges, both a signature characteristic of Jaimina's clear and glassy Fluorites. There is some minor edge wear, as expected on a piece of this size, but it is generally in good shape. The edges and subtle surface features throughout, make it different than almost all other fluorite specimens. The sharp blades of Baryte, up to 9 mm, complement the Fluorites very well. Of course, the fluorescence is an intense purplish-blue. A large, representative and choice specimen of this style.
