Item Description

This remote Chinese locality has become a prolific producer of fine quality crystallized specimens. This beautiful and highly aesthetic small cabinet display specimen host several sharp, textbook octahedral crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 4.2 cm across which are associated with highly compressed crystals of bladed Calcite (sometimes called "Blatterspat") which have soft grey-green inclusion of Hedenbergite. This piece is actually from the find that produced the amazing pink and red Fluorite specimens a few years ago, but the inclusions of the Hedenbergite have almost muted all the color from the Fluorites. If you look closely on the reverse side, you can see slight hints of the pink color that came through the Fluorites Overall, the piece is in superb condition, as I cannot find any major damage to the display side. The piece is crystallized on the back as well, and there is only a small point of attachment on the back. A wonderful and showy example of this gorgeous material. Priced at $2,500 in the inventory.
