Item Description

A wonderful and showy cabinet sized display specimen from this prolific Chinese locality. Several gemmy, "stacked" cubic crystals of light green colored Fluorite measuring up to 1.8 cm are associated with a highly compressed, "pagoda"-esque group of white Calcite crystals measuring 1.6 cm along with a few additional single Calcite "blades" sitting on sharp, lustrous prismatic Quartz crystal matrix. The arrangement along with the overall quality of the piece make it a very desirable example of this classic material. Priced in our inventory at $1,750. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007.
