Fluorite & Calcite (both fluorescent) on Quartz (Robertson Coll.)

Item Description

An aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet combination from this well-known Morocco fluorite mine. Beautiful glassy, green fluorite cubes, to 1.3 cm, with overlapping clusters of nubby calcite rhombs are nicely set on the mounded matrix of sharply terminated, glassy, translucent quartz crystals. Both the fluorite and calcite fluoresce. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12343 and acquired from Horst Buchard at Tucson. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Combinations of this quality are quite RARE from here.
