Item Description

Highly unusual, etched, fluorite cuboctahedrons are elegantly perched on a forest of quartz points on this outstanding CABINET combination plate from the famous San Martin Mine. The translucent fluorites have colorless cores with a pretty mint-green outer layer. Strikingly and very unusually, the upper half of every one of the fluorites has the outer green layer etched away, revealing the colorless cores. Beautiful, sharp, iridescent, chalcopyrite crystals with a few melted-look galena cubes are scattered about as a super accent. The large fluorite is 3.0 cm and the large quartz is 4.0 cm. Essentially pristine, with only very trivial periphery wear, amazing for such a densely crystallized piece. The fluorites have super purple fluorescence. From the noted Mexico collection of Jason New.
