Item Description
An impressive large fluorite specimen from this well-known North Pennines fluorite mine. Very glassy, transparent to translucent, interpenetrating fluorite cubes with variable rich purple color have nifty preferential accents of patches of lustrous, light brown, siderite rhombs. The striking large cube is 5.0 x 4.0 x 3.1 cm. The compostion is excellent and the interior of the piece is essentially pristine. Probably from the circa 1970 find. Displays well from several sides. Super fluorescence! Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased in 1977 at Bancroft.
