Item Description

Here we have a gorgeous old classic cabinet display specimen of Fluorite from the famous Naica Mine featuring several sharp, well-formed, gemmy, very pale green to colorless cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 3.6 cm on edge sprinkled over layer of grey Galena sitting atop a slab of dark brownish-black Sphalerite matrix with minor Pyrite sprinkled here and there. You can see that there is a selective deposition of drusy white / colorless Calcite scalenohedra on certain faces of the Fluorite crystals, giving them a beautiful "frosted" effect. Nearly every crystal of Fluorite is undamaged, and I love how the main crystal sits at the top of the specimen to create a perfect presentation. If you look closely, you can see several of the Fluorite crystals are included with sparkling, metallic Pyrite crystals as well! A wonderful example of this well-known and beloved material. This is not from contemporary mining, and dates back to the early 1970s. Priced in the inventory at $1,500.
