Item Description

Fluorite occurs in thousands of world localities, often in gem quality material, but a recent find in Morocco has produced some fairly rare COLOR CHANGE material that are clean enough to yield fine gems. This stone is one of the better examples we've seen. It exhibit a gentle light blue color in direct sunlight, and changes to a smoky lavender color in incandescent lighting. Now the color in sunlight is truly the optimal color for the material, and these gems remind me of certain blue Fluorites from Hardin County, Illinois that perform a similar kind of color change. The stone has a "Wide Pear Brilliant" cut and is very slightly included, but still very good quality. This is one of the VERY few we've examples of these attractive gems that we had had to offer, so do not miss out on this one. Priced at $1,267.50 retail.
