Item Description

Fluorite is a well-known mineral/gem, found in thousands of localities around the world. A large percentage of Fluorites you'll find are least "gemmy", and many of them are gem quality, worthy of being faceted into find stones. Recently there was a find of some beautiful color change material in Morocco, and this stone is one of the better examples we've seen. The stones exhibit a periwinkle blue color in direct sunlight, and changes to a smoky lavender color in incandescent lighting. Now the color in sunlight is truly the optimal color for the material, and these gems remind me of certain blue Fluorites from Hardin County, Illinois that perform a similar kind of color change. The stone has a "Round Brilliant" cut and is nearly eye-clean in clarity. This is the only stone I have to offer of these attractive gems, so do not miss out on this one.
