Item Description

A few years ago, there were a handful of these really large pieces of attractive color Fluorite on the market, but none of them were fine quality mineral specimens. All of the crystals were damaged or cleaved, but all of them were transparent. We purchased most of these specimens and decided to have them faceted. This stone is one of the largest and most impressive gems of Mozambique Fluorite that I have seen. It is a whopping 37.57 carats, and shows a beautiful blue-green hue with a custom "Modified Cut Corner Triangle" cut. The stone was faceted by Brett Kosnar about two years ago. This gem is truly as close to eye clean as I have seen for a Fluorite this size. The excellent color, size, quality and cutting of the stone makes is a true collector's gem. I have not seen any more of this material on the market since we purchased them, and I have to believe that a gem collector can appreciate this stone for what it is - a remarkable and desirable faceted Fluorite from a rather obscure locality. The high end retail value on this stone is $939.25.
