Item Description

A highly unusual fluorite from an unknown Barcelona locality. The 1.3 cm rich mint-green crystal appears to be a rare dodecahedron and is also strangely altered with frosted faces. The broken fluorites on the vuggy side reveal the interiors of these weird crystals. The limestone matrix includes a host of glassy calcite rhombs. Two sides and the back have been sawed and the piece displays very well without aid. Bright purple fluorite and red calcite fluorescence. RARE and unusual fluorite from this well-known area, where most fluorite is glassy green octahedrons.
