Fluorite (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen has no Amazonite, but features a sharp, well-formed, purplish colored cubic crystal of Fluorite on Feldspar matrix. The crystal measures 6 mm on edge, and like most of these Fluorites, the color looks best in sunlight. A nice example of this classic material from Colorado. This specimen was in the collection of Brian Kosnar.
