Item Description

The Huanggang Mine in the Inner Mongolia of China is the source of a wide range of attractive and beautifully well-crystallized Fluorite specimens. We've seen Fluorite specimens with colors including blue, green, purple, colorless and the highly sought after pink hue. These beautiful purple specimens came out in the early 2010s, and are seldom seen in today's market. This piece is a showy and fine quality display specimen featuring a three-dimensional group of sharp, gemmy, well-formed, octahedral crystals measuring up to 2.2 cm, free of matrix. A few small silvery metallic crystals of Arsenopyrite/Löllingite can be seen scattered about. The piece is crystallized on all sides, and there is very little damage to be seen. A showy and attractive example of these wonderful Fluorites from this prolific locality. Valued at $1,200. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection.
