Fluorite (ex Marcella Watson Collection)

Item Description

Here we have a gorgeous old classic miniature display specimen of Fluorite from the famous Naica Mine featuring a sharp, well-formed, gemmy, saturated purple color stepped cuboctahedral crystal of Fluorite measuring 3.7 cm associated with silvery-grey cubic Galena. No damage on the front / display side, but it is contacted on the back where it was separated from the pocket wall. Most Fluorites from Naica don't have color as saturated as this piece in my experience. A wonderful example of this well-known and beloved material. This is not from contemporary mining, and dates back to the early 1970s. From the collection of Marcella Watson.
