Item Description

This is a wonderful, impressive, showy cabinet specimen from the Xianghualing Mine featuring several good sized, beautiful green color, sharp, well-formed, gemmy cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.6 cm on edge aesthetically sprinkled over the underlying matrix. A thin layer of white Quartz can be seen in between the Fluorite and the matrix, and if you look closely, you'll see that the Fluorites are so GEMMY, you can actually see straight through them to the underlying matrix. I honestly can't see any damage of note on any of the major crystals. If you collect Fluorites or minerals of China, don't miss out on this attractive piece from this prodigious specimen producing locality. Valued at $3,000-$4,000 retail. From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s. He is also the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar. See Dave's photo mining at the Sweet Home on page 58 of Peter Bancroft's book "Gem and Crystal Treasures".
