Item Description

Choice, rounded cluster of gemmy and colorless, highly modified Fluorites from one of the Rabenstein mines in Austria. The satiny luster is preferential, always an interesting effect, with some faces slightly more transparent than others. The cluster is in good condition with one end contacted, and the Fluorite has a brillaint, blue fluorescence. This habit is quite unusual for any of the Rabenstein mines in this area of Austria, and, in fact, the Fluorites more resemble those from the Rabenstein Mine (now Corvara) in nearby Italy. #1713 and acquired in 1960, this venerable old-timer was originally in the private collections of Falkenhorst and Scott Williams.
