Item Description

A showy and aesthetic small cabinet sized specimen of the famous colorless "ice" cube Fluorites from Dalnegorsk. This piece features several very GEMMY, colorless cubic crystals (with thin dodecahedral modifications on the edges) measuring up to a full 2.5 cm associated with thin "discs" of white Calcite. The piece is in very good condition with only a few tiny imperfections. It's nearly crystallized all over, close to being a "floater". This classic material from Dalnegorsk is beloved by collectors and dealers as it's not common to find Fluorite without color from any locality. All of the various colors in Fluorite are caused by impurities to the chemistry, so this lack of color actually means this is chemically pure Fluorite. An impressive and really fine quality specimens of this fantastic material from a find in the 1990s. Valued at $1,500.
From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#40 Ru), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel. We at The Arkenstone have the privilege of offering the remainder of this great worldwide collection through our various platforms.
