Item Description

Considering all the Fluorite specimens that have come out of China, this a rather attractive piece hosting, sharp, WATER-CLEAR, (almost ice-like) lovely green color, slightly stacked, cubic crystals with minor dodecahedral modifications measuring up to 2.4 cm on edge with minor associated silvery Calcite. The specimen displays very nicely, and just looks like a pool of liquid green in your hands. The faces of the crystals have excellent luster as well. Due to the incredible clarity of the crystals, the piece was rather difficult to photograph, but you can see straight through them to the slight underlying matrix. Only minor imperfections, but overall the quality is excellent. Lastly, it must be noted that the color of these crystals really stands out under fluorescent lighting as opposed to incandescent lighting, but the piece truly must be seen in person to appreciate it gemminess and elegant beauty. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12497). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
