Item Description

A classic colorless Fluorite with EXCELLENT gemminess most commonly associated with Dal'negorsk specimens. These famous specimens from Dal'negorsk have been given the nickname "ice cubes" due to their amazing clarity and lack of color. This actually means they are chemically pure Fluorite as specimens with any kind of color actually have some kind of impurities (chromaphores). This small cabinet specimen features a pair of razor-sharp cubes measuring up to 3.8 cm on edge which are sitting on Quartz crystals on minor matrix. The crystals are WATER CLEAR in areas and you can see straight through them to the underlying matrix. It's a very aesthetic piece as you can see from the photos. Only a few minor nicks can be seen, and the piece is contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. Flourite is found in virtually all colors of the rainbow, but colorles material is rare for the species. A great specimen from a find in the late 1990s. Valued at $950 in the inventory.
