Fluorite ("ice cube" crystals) on Quartz

Dalnegorsk is well-known for producing superb display quality specimens of many species, but one of the favorites among collectors are the famous "ice cube" colorless Fluorite specimens. This miniature features several superb quality Fluorite crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm with absolute WATER CLEAR clarity and the complete abscence of color. The fact that these crystals are colorless actually means this is chemically pure Fluorite, which is quite rare in nature. Most Fluorite has some kind of color which is a sign of impurities / chromophores. The Fluorites are sitting on a matrix of thin prismatic Quartz crystals and a bit of greenish Clinochlore(?). The piece is in excellent condition, with no major damge anywhere on the display side. I love how the main Fluorite is so beautifully set atop the specimen for wonderful aesthetics. Great quality, form and balance makes this a fantastic specimen of this now hard to find material from this world-class locality. Priced in our inventory at $1,500.
