Item Description

A gorgeous multi-color cubic group of Fluorite from the famous Minerva #1 Mine. The piece displays wonderfully as you can see from the photos, and it GLOWS with color when backlit as the outer purple / blue exterior is illuminated by the beautiful yellow interior with distinct internal "phantoms". The largest Fluorite cube measures 5.5 at its widest dimension. Interestingly, there is a spot on the side of the piece that shows a bit of stepped growth, but is not see anywhere else on the specimen. There are a few nicks, so it's not 100% damage free, but it's still nearly a full LARGE CABINET sized display piece that would make a great addition to any Fluorite suite or collection of large display specimens. This locality is well known for amazing multi-color Fluorite specimens, though they are few and far between on the market these days. This area is completely closed down and will never produce these specimens again. Valued at $2,000. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #797). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
