Item Description

Here we have a wonderful old classic example of Fluorite from the now extinct mine Erika Mine featuring attractive, sharp, gemmy, lustrous yeelow-green, purplish and even red colored cubic crystals of Fluorite free of matrix. The crystals are very lustrous and gemmy and even feature a bit of associated Dolomite. Interestingly, there is a note on the label, and a paper arrow glued to the piece which denotes that there is an actual octahedral face on one Fluorite crystal - not a cleavage - which is noteworthy for the locality as any octahedral habit crystals are incredibly rare. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5570). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
