Item Description

Fluorite crystals of this large size, 5.3 x 4.8 x 4.6 cm, are rare from the renowned Huayllapon Mine of Peru, famed for outstanding rhodochrosites. Translucent and lustrous, this very pretty, light seafoam-green octahedron is mildly etched and has some stepped-growth faces. The large octo is jauntily set on mounded CABINET matrix festooned with water-clear, quartz needles to 2.0 cm. One end of the fluorite is gently cleaved, but is a modest detraction. This is an uncommon and desirable, large fluorite combination specimen from this noted locale, circa the late 1990s. Ex Dave Bristol Collection. Valued at $950. Bright purple fluorescence.
