Item Description

A classic and hard to find example of the rarely seen Fluorites from the Churprinz Mine in Saxony, Germany. Sharp, gemmy, lustrous cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 1.1 cm are sitting on "fan"-shaped group of cream colored, lustrous Barite crystals associated with minor Galena and Ankerite. The Fluorites are mostly yellow in color, but show a slight amount of blue-purple "phantom" coloring on the edges. Good condition on the display side, and a great piece to add to a Fluorite collection or a German suite of minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12882) with a few additional labels from other collections (no attributions given). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
