Item Description

A beautiful, sculptural and showy three-dimensional display specimen of the famous Fluorites from the Fontsante Mine. The wide array of colors from this mine make it one of the premier French Fluorite localities out there. This piece features a coverage of beautiful blue-lilac colored cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 5 mm which are coating a very aesthetically formed matrix creating a dramatic overall specimen. You can see from the photos how well the piece displays without the aid of a base or clay! Minor white bladed Barites makes for a wonderful accent, and the piece is about as showy as I've seen for this type from the locality. Valued at $800. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #494). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
