Item Description

Pretty light blue fluorite cubes have nifty purple edge phantoms and are aesthetically scattered on the impressive sculptural specimen of large intergrown blocky calcite rhombs. The water-clear, lustrous cubes, to 2.3 cm, have frosted faces. The waxy luster, translucent calcite rhombs are pristine in the display view. The contact at the base on the front, where another crystal once lay, has no damage, per se. The calcite attachments on the back and bottom are out-of-sight. The 20+ fluorite cubes are in excellent shape, overall. A dinged cube on the back of the top and a lightly bruised edge to a primary cube are noted, but are certainly only a modest detraction to this very showy and excellent large fluorite and calcite combination collected in 1989 from this well-known Asturias mine. Purple calcite fluorescence. Ex Raul Sanabria Collection. La Viesca is famous for rich purple fluorite specimens. Lighter colored zoned crystals, such as this, are uncommon.
