Fluorite on Quartz

Item Description

This is a great cabinet piece of classic "Blanchard blue" crystals on white Quartz making for a contrasty specimen! The Fluorite is distributed into three distinct groups of crystals. The small pale blue cluster at the top also shows a distinct purple zone in the largest crystal and the group of larger Fluorite crystals just below are dark blue and each crystal exhibits a distinct very dark blue rim and these crystals are up to 1cm across (with a few tiny dings, but otherwise in good shape). The larger group of crystals at the bottom of the piece are of two marked sizes: an early generation of small, 1-3mm, dominantly purple with bluish cores are succeeded by three, large, dark blue, intergrown Fluorite cubes from 1 - 1.5cm in size that have the distinct darker blue rim. All of the Fluorites are in excellent condition. The Fluorites are nicely accented by an underlying, coarse druse of colorless to white, tightly grouped Quartz crystals making for a very aesthetic Blanchard Mine Fluorite specimen. valued $300-400
