Fluorite on Quartz

Item Description

A beautiful display specimen from the famous Sweet Home Mine. While this world famous locality is best known for its superb Rhodochrosite specimens, it also produces some beautiful Fluorites among other minerals. Typically the Fluorites from this locality are purple, but the crystals on this piece are a beautiful blue color, which is a much less common hue and highly desirable among collectors. Fine, sharp, "built up" cubic crystal groups of wonderful sky blue colored Fluorite measuring up to 1.2 cm are sitting among thin "needle" Quartz crystals with metallic Pyrite and beige Dolomite on the reverse side. Very little damage and very showy as the Fluorites are sitting aesthetically at the top of the specimen. A very attractive and good quality display specimen of this fairly hard to find material from the mid 1990s. Valued at $500-$700.
