Fluorite ('phantom' crystals) on Quartz (ex Brett Keller Collection)

Item Description

This is a classic Shangbao Fluorite that came out of one of the early pockets in the mine's history. This attractive miniature specimen features several superb quality, beautiful purple colored complex crystal groups measuring up to 1.7 cm on edge sitting on crystallized Quartz on matrix. The Fluorites are quite gemmy and feature distinct internal phantoms with color zoning ranging from a darker purple hue at the center to a lighter hue on the edges. The crystals themselves feature "stacked" cubic faces oriented into octahedral shapes. No damage that I can find, and Fluorites are visible on both the front and back of the specimen. A fantastic eye-catching specimen to add to any Fluorite collection or suite of Chinese minerals. Valued at $950 in the inventory. From the collection of Brett Keller.
