Item Description

A great quality, older Fluorite specimen from the famous pegmatite near Nagar. The piece was mined in the mid 1990's, and is one of the better pieces of this material (in terms of clarity) that I've offered in the auctions in a while. Gemmy, fine quality, beautiful baby pink and green color Fluorite crystals with well-defined, sharp faces are sitting on bladed silvery Muscovite. The crystals show a nearly equal amount of cubic, dodecahedral and octahedral faces. It is certainly gemmy enough to cut a good-sized clean gemstone. Very little damage to speak of on the display side, but it is contacted on the back. It can be displayed from several angles. I don't have to tell you how the value of Nagar Fluorites has risen over the years, and this is wonderful Fluorite specimen of this material from this classic Pakistani locality. This is an uncommon specimen from this area which commonly features etched, or pale colored crystals of Fluorite, so a sharp crystal with good saturated color like this is rare in my experience. From the collection of John Arnaud of Westcliffe, Colorado and priced at $700 in his inventory. BETTER IN PERSON, hard to photograph.
