Item Description

The Minggang Mine in Henan, China is probably best known for producing the iconic rich purple colored botryoidal Fluorite specimens in the mid 2000s. While that spherical style is rarely seen in Fluorite, those specimens are cryptocrystalline at best, but this particular specimen is a wonderful CRYSTALLIZED example with rarely seen GREEN color for the locality. This showy and fine quality cabinet sized display specimen is filled with hundreds of excellent, sharp, well-formed, gemmy green cubic crystals of Fluorite which are intergrown into semi-spherical clusters, which are associated with heavily etched white Quartz, sitting on almost Amethystine colored massive Quartz matrix underneath. You have to look closely to see the fine crystallized faces on all the little Fluorites, but the entire piece is crystallized all over. No damage anywhere that I can find with naked eye, and the piece present so wonderfully on its own without the aid of a base or clay. These specimens came from a single discovery at Minggang, and have not been found again, so if you're a fan of worldwide / Chinese Fluorites, don't pass this one up for a great bargain. For the rare style and color for this locality, we have this piece priced at $4,000 in the inventory.
