Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of Fluorite from the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. I've only seen a few of these specimens over the years, and most of those pieces were from New York. This specimen is a lovely minature featuring a few sharp, well-formed, WATER CLEAR, razor sharp cubes of Fluorites meauring up to 1.1 cm sitting on host rock matrix. Most of the crystals are damage free, though a few are contacted. They may look colorless in the photos, but in certain lighting, they have a pale pinkish-lilac hue. If you collect worldwide Fluorites, this is certainly one worth adding to your collection just for the locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2236). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
