Item Description

Dark green, lustrous, translucent, intergrown fluorite octahedrons, to 1.7 cm, with satin luster faces cover the sculptural matrix plate along with preferential white quartz coatings on one end. Afton Canyon and the Felix Mine in Azusa are the only two California localities that produce green and octahedral fluorites and both are closed. Purple fluorescence. Excellent, rich and uncommon from the obscure locale. Bob Reynolds, former curator of the San Bernardino Museum, collected these himself.
