Item Description

Striking, highly unusual stepped-growth faces to this very showy, old-time intergrown cluster of gemmy, rich purple fluorite cubes with waxy luster from famed Mina Ojuela. This striking and unusual fluorite has two fine display views. The crystals GLOW, when backlit and interestingly do not fluoresce like the purple fluorites do from recent finds in the last 10 years. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 4246 and acquired at the Culver City Show in 1965. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Rare and excellent old-time Mina Ojuela fluorite.
