Item Description

A striking intergrown cluster of strongly etched, transparent to translucent, amber fluorite cubes with satin luster stepped-growth faces are dramatically highlighted by purple edge phantoms. The large fluorite cube is 3.0 cm on edge. The cubes are jauntily set atop the matrix of etched, lustrous, sphalerite crystals. Remnant white baryte is embedded on both the fluorite and sphalerite, adding contrast and character. The amber fluorite fluoresces yellow under LW UV light due to hydrocarbon inclusions. Ex Chad Dalrymple collection of Ardmore, Oklahoma who passed away in 1995. We recently obtained a portion of his collection. He acquired this impressive and showy Minerva Mine combination from well-known geologist, dealer and Illinois-based collector, Ross Lillie in April, 1995.
