The De'an Mine is well known among collectors for producing some beautiful and often large display specimens of wonderfully colorful and gemmy Fluorite crystals. Here we have an attractive large cabinet display specimen featuring a layer of unusually slightly curved octahedral Fluorite crystals which measure up to 3.4 cm across with minor associated Quartz sitting on a thick gemmy layer of beautiful green massive Fluorite matrix. My favorite aspect of the purple octahedra is that when you backlight them, you can see a gorgeous blue hue around the edges. Most of the octahedral crystals are undamaged, though there are some peripheral contacts where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. These pieces are now becoming very difficult to find on the market, and if you collect Fluorites or Chinese minerals, don't miss out on this showy big display specimen for an excellent price.
