Item Description

For the plethora of minerals found in Brazil, a common species like Fluorite is almost non-existent. I cannot say for certain if the locality is 100% accurate on this, but I have seen similar pieces labeled as coming from the Santa Rosa Mine. The fact that it's a colorless Fluorite is interesting enough, combined with the fact that the unique etching pattern and modified octahedral form makes for a wonderful overall specimen. You can see the GEMMY colorless interior when backlit. If you collect gem crystals, or specifically GEM mineral, do not miss out on this cool dispaly specimen from Brazil!! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12458). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
