Item Description
A dramatic and outstanding large locality fluorite from the much more obscure Hill-Ledford Mine. The impressive, 5.3 x 4.8 x 3.5 cm cube dominates the plate that is very richly dusted with sugary, micro calcite crystals. The frosted crystals are a rich violet, that GLOWS hot magenta, when backlit. The purple color-zoning on all of the crystals is dramatic and very sharp. The pronounced stepped-growth frontal face on the large cube really adds character to this classic, beautiful and rare large fluorite. Ex. Robert Whitmore Collection. Purple fluorescence. Very fairly valued at $1500.
