Item Description

An impressive and very sculptural large two-sided combination fluorite rib from the famous Moscona Mine. One side of the dramatic mound of intergrown gemmy golden yellow cubes is stunningly peppered with florets of pearlescent saddle-shaped dolomite rhombs, while the other side is essentially bare of dolomite. Very interesting chemistry here. The bottom of the rib is festooned with the dolomite rhombs and is nicely accented with three glassy calcite crystals. The large calcite, at 3.5 cm, has a cleaved face. The super cute and pristine doubly terminated calcite is 2.3 cm long. Striking zoned ghostly white fluorescence. An outstanding large fluorite combination from this classic locale. Ex J.R. Garcia and Raul Sanabria Collections.
