Item Description

An impressive, large, sharp and colorful bi-colored fluorite cube with nifty accessories from the famous Blackdene Mine. The lustrous, slightly translucent cube is mostly mottled violet, but preferential patches of bone-white fluorite are a super contrast. Outstanding accessories are scattered clusters and isolated lustrous, brassy pyrite cubes. The striking 1.4 cm pyrite cluster in the middle of the white fluorite also hosts tiny bornite-coated galena cuboctahedrons! There is a green core in the cube, adding even more interest! Bright purple fluoresecence, as you would expect! Rare and excellent combination material from this famous old first lead, then fluorite mine, that closed in 1987. Choice material from the Joe Lobell Collection of Oklahoma.
